Their training was phenomenal – this is a role where I learned to really believed in myself, and I think they noticed that from day one, so even though I took a little longer to develop than other people, they really invested time in me.

Brief background

I approached a recruitment firm before debating what to do and they put it in my head about a career in recruiting, so then I applied to dozens of firms between late 2018/early 2019. I finally received a call back from Discover, and I will admit, I almost didn’t go to the interview, which I realise now would have been the biggest mistake of my life.

I showed up to what felt like an audition day, it was like being in a live action game show. We had to complete tasks, and then they would pick people out the room or send people home!

How would you describe the training and onboarding?

Their training was phenomenal – this is a role where I learned to really believed in myself, and I think they noticed that from day one, so even though I took a little longer to develop than other people, they really invested time in me.

This job has been the best thing that has ever happened to me.

What makes Discover stand out?

I remember when I met with Adam and he told me Discover are the best at what they do, I thought that was what everyone said! It took me the first year here to realize, they are. They genuinely care about what they do and take so much care and attention in their work.

How have you progressed in the business?

I have only been here 2.5 years and I am now on the management track and will be building out my own team.

What advice would you give someone starting in recruitment in their first 6-12 months?

It’s a roller coaster, be ready for the ups and downs!
